In 2022, our family moved from São Paulo to São Miguel dos Milagres to renovate our grandfather's old house—he was originally from Alagoas. Nearly three years after embarking on this adventure, the small rooms in the back (which once hosted many fishermen and the fresh fish brought in from the deep seas of Milagres) have finally been transformed into beautiful suites, carefully renovated by us to welcome visitors looking to enjoy unforgettable days in the region.

The private suites include a double bed, air conditioning, a private bathroom, a complete bedding set, and a wardrobe shelf. Guests also have access to a fully equipped shared kitchen, a barbecue grill, a living room with a TV, two outdoor showers, a table for work or a home office, shared leisure and social areas, and a clothesline. Access to the suites is through an independent entrance, separate from our house, allowing you to enjoy the coziness of a family environment with the privacy of a guesthouse. Nearby, there are several options for markets, bakeries, and a gym (JCfit) located within a distance of less than 50 meters. We have a partnership with the gym, offering a daily fee of only R$15. For stays longer than three days, the daily fee is reduced to R$10.

Access to the suites is through an independent entrance separate from our house, allowing you to enjoy the warmth of a family environment with the privacy of a guesthouse.

Porto da Rua is the largest village in São Miguel dos Milagres, featuring a beautiful beach with restaurants, beach clubs, and beachside stalls. The village also offers markets, bakeries, snack bars, pizzerias, burger joints, shops, a gym, a pharmacy, and much more. All of this, combined with the fact that we are located at the center of the Route of Miracles, makes Porto da Rua the ideal village for your stay in the region. In addition to enjoying everything here, you’ll be able to easily travel to all the other destinations along the Route.

Getting around the Porto da Rua region and its surroundings is relatively easy and offers several options to make the most of your experience. Here are some suggestions on how to get around and what to do in the area:

The best ways to get around include renting a car, which is highly recommended for its flexibility when exploring not only Porto da Rua Beach but also other beaches in the region, such as Patacho Beach, Japaratinga Beach, and Maragogi. The main roads are well maintained, although some dirt roads may have uneven stretches. Private transportation services, such as taxis and motorcycle taxis, are available for short trips, although they may be harder to find in more remote areas (Uber service is not yet available in the region). Alternatively, renting a bicycle can be an enjoyable way to explore the area, and there are companies offering this service locally.

Things to do in the region include beach visits to discover nearby spots like Patacho Beach or Praia da Lage, known for their natural pools and privacy, perfect for a day trip. Outdoor activities like stand-up paddleboarding or kayaking are often available with our partners, who rent out equipment. You can also enjoy tours such as trips on traditional jangadas, buggy rides (including those for watching the sunset), boat trips, scuba diving, horseback riding, cultural immersion tours, or a visit to the manatee sanctuary in Tatuamunha.
